House in C.U.B.A.
Buenos Aires / Argentina
2003
The plot had a pre-existing swimming pool and its perimeter was intensely wooded. The client established two conditions: that the living room should have the best views of the surrounding woods and that the bedrooms should have a certain level of privacy with regards the streets. The idea of breaking up the house around the entire garden was always present as a way to integrate both elements. All the social activity takes place on the upper floor, where the views are even better. We decided to bury the level of the house 4´4” below grade, not only to reach the entrance fluidly but also to generate a bedroom area with a high level of privacy.
